Trade of the day, KERX!!!

So I caught some of a short squeeze this morning on KERX. Went long 1000 shares at 9.09 after the candlestick hammer formed on the 5-minute chart. I wasn't really looking for a profit target price with KERX, but just observing it for a little top heavy action or a candlestick sell signal. A shooting star bar pattern did form about 18 minutes after I entered the trade, and I got out exactly at that bar's close at 9.60 for a .51 point gain.

Trade of the day, SANM!!!

Not all bounce plays work, as you can see on the picture below. I thought SANM was a perfect bounce play in motion this morning, so went long 1000 shares at 10.20. Was looking for a profit target of at least 11.00, but my stop ended up getting hit at 9.99 and sold it for a -.21 point loss.

Trade of the day, RPRX!!!

Caught a nice small bounce today on RPRX, when it started collapsing right at the open. Went long 500 shares at 12.00, and was looking for a profit target around 13.00. Everything on this trade worked like clockwork, and sold  RPRX right at 13.00 for a 1.00 point gain. I really couldn't have asked for a better trade this morning.

Trade of the day, UVXY!!!

Didn't day trade any stocks today, but this trade of the day, was just a continual trade from yesterday (look at previous day blog post) on UVXY. Finally sold it right before the bell rung at 10.59, from an entry yesterday at 10.15, for a .44 point gain. All I can say is "Do not let your greed get the better of your judgement." HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!

Trade of the day, UVXY!!!

So I broke a bunch of rules today, but this trade just got my emotions going. Went long this morning 1000 shares of UVXY and got filled at 10.15. Decided to hold it overnight after it broke through 11, but as you can see below, my trade turned into a nightmare after 2:30p.m ET. Going to hold UVXY until probably the end of the day tomorrow.

Trade of the day, ONVO!!!

ONVO has treated me well the last 2 days (read previous blog post) with over $1500 in profits, on just 2 round trip trades of a 1000 shares each. I ended up almost catching the bottom today when it sold off and hit a low of 4.07. Went long ONVO on a 1000 shares at 4.30 when I say the candlestick hammer was about to form on the 15-minutes chart. My profit target was at least 4.90, but when it broke through 5.00, I decided to hold on for a bit longer, and sold it at 5.09 for a .79 point gain. By the way, got stopped-out of UVXY again today, after I moved my stop up for break-even. I’ll be playing it (UVXY) tomorrow morning again. CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP!!!

Trade of the day, ONVO!!!

Lost about $120 going long again this morning on UVXY, but made $850 when I caught the continuation rally with ONVO. Went long 1000 shares at 4.95 and sold it at 5.80 for a .85 point gain. This (ONVO) trade was a very high probable play for more upside movement today, by just analyzing the increasing daily volume it had the previous trading days, I knew it had some more upside potential.

Trade of the day, UVXY!!!

You win some, and you lose some. Played UVXY long again (see previous post) today, and I really got caught off guard this time when it started to collapse near around 1:00 p.m ET. Went long 1000 shares right at the open, and got filled at 12.95. I initially placed my stop at 12.73, then stupidity moved it down to 12.47 when I thought the overall market seemed to have top out a bit. Now due to market makers or whoever is rigging this ETF, my stop all of sudden got stopped-out very quickly around 1:00 p.m ET and sold at 12.47, a -.48 point loss. If the UVXY was a stock, it would have been delisted months ago. Despite this losing trade today, I'm far from done trading it. I'm going to be day-trading it until I get my "DeaD CaT BouncE"!!! Even if it blows up my account...Just Kidding. Enjoy the long weekend everybody!

Trade of the day, UVXY!!!

If you have been reading my posts, or following my tweets for the past few weeks, you may know that I'm still hell bent on trying to catch this Dead Cat Bounce on UVXY. I don't care which way the market is heading, I'm going to play 1000 shares of this ETF until it has a nice huge retrace to the upside. Anyways, went long 1000 shares right at the open and got fill at 12.75. I placed my stop at 12.49 just in-case the market makers decide to try and take out some weak hands. Also I didn't even bother to look for a profit target, just held on to this thing (UVXY) 5 minutes before the market closed (4:00p.m ET) today. Finally, UVXY did start moving to the upside late in the day, and I sold it at 13.15 for a .40 point gain.

Trade of the day, SHLD!!!

Usually my trade of the day is some type of bounce play I profited on, but I want to change it up a little on this post, and show you a nice breakout I caught with SHLD today.  Looking on the daily chart, you could see SHLD was just itching to breakout today, so went long 400 shares at an average entry of 44.80. I was looking for a profit target of at least 47.00. When SHLD starting to get a little toppy at the end of the day, I just decided to move up my initial stop from 44.44 to 45.99 which ended up getting hit after I moved it.  Despite holding on to this stock almost the whole day trying to catch this breakout, I still manage to gain 1.19 points on the trade.

Trade of the day, ZPPB!!!

This was one of my most riskiest trade I've done so far this year. The risk to reward was pretty much just 1:1. I could have lost hundreds of dollars in less than a minute after I went long with this penny stock. Went long 10,000 shares on ZPPB at .25, and sold half (5000) after it hit my profit target of .30 for a $250 profit so far. I want to see if it could go any higher, so holding the other half (5000) overnight to try catch that gap up in the morning.

Trade of the day, TELK!!!

I traded a few stocks today, but none of them ended up being winners today. Anyways, I was looking for a continuation to the upside today with TELK, but it failed to materialize. Went long 1000 shares at 2.33 and sold at 2.25 for a .08 point loss.

Trade of the day, BV!!!

Didn't do that much trading today. BV looked like a good contender when it sold off late yesterday, and was looking it might rebound some today. Went long 1000 at 6.70 on my first round trip trade and got stopped-out at 6.59. Then after it hit a nice support at 6.50, went long again 1000 shares at 6.60. I was hoping for an end of the day run-up that never did materialized and just sold it 5 minutes before the bell at 6.64 for a .04 point gain, but an overall .07 point loss when adding both round trips. Enjoy the weekend!

Trade of the day, MCP!!!

Today's trade of the day was pretty much a gamble (thinking it wasn't going to crack 8.00 a share) than an entry signal strategy that I most commonly use to get into a trade. So I decided to go long 1000 of MCP at 8.10, thinking there was no way it was going to break the 8.00 a share support level today. Placed my stop at 7.97 just in-case I was wrong. I didn't want to move my stop up until it reached 9.00, but, if it didn't hit that mark, I was just going to hold it until the last half an hour of trading, and I did, sold it about 10 minutes before the bell rung at 8.45  for a .35 point gain. By the way, I'am still long 2500 share of $TZYM at .58, and holding it overnight hoping that it will have a nice run-up tomorrow (Friday) before the weekend.

Trades of the day, HLF and UVXY!!!

My first trade of the day was HLF. It had gotten halted on some pretty decent news this morning, so when it started to sell off after it re-opened and knew it was just some profit taking. Once it touched 38.00 a share and started to bounce, this was going to be an easy day trade with a very good risk to reward ratio as long as I placed my stop at 37.97. So I went long 300 shares at 38.25 and sold it at 40.21 for a 1.96 point gain. Glad I didn’t decide to hold this until the close, as you can see on the picture below.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Finally, my second trade (picture below) of the day was UVXY. I’ve been hell bent on trying to catch some type of Dead Cat Bounce with this thing for the past week, but I’ve realize this ETF is rigid. I decided to go long again today after it gapped down and was hitting more all-time lows. I’m not even going to watch any type of underlying index with UVXY anymore, it’s all about price action with this thing now. Therefore, I caught some of the bounce today, by going long 1000 shares at 14.50 this morning, and sold it at 15.05 for a .55 point gain.  If UVXY has anymore huge gap downs within the next few months, you’ll see me going long on the open, it’s automatic for now.

Trade of the day, CTIC!!!

My trade of the day is usually a winning trade, but today I want to show you why mental stops are wrong if you ever get up from your trading desk. Went long 1000 shares on CTIC at 1.55 when it had some very high volume, and looking like it was heading straight upwards to 2 dollars a share. I put in a mental stop knowing this was going to be a brief trade. Now the minute I thought it was okay to step away from my desk to look for some whiteout, I could see the stock starting to collapse from a distance on my computer monitor. So the time I got my mouse and placed a market sell order, it was already almost down more than 10%. I put in the market order and sold it at 1.45 for a .10 point loss. Always remember to put in place a stop order if you ever step away from your computer.

Trade of the day, ESI!!!

A perfect dragonfly doji candlestick pattern trade setup off the bottom lows this morning on ESI. I went long 1000 shares at 15.10 after the dragonfly doji formed on the 5-minute daily chart, and sold it when my 16 dollar profit target was almost reached at 15.96 for a .86 point gain.

Trade of the day, ARAY!!!

ARAY had a strong support level around the low 5's for about a year now. It gap down this morning and tested those lows again, so it was pretty much a no brainier to go long 1000 shares at 5.05. I placed my stop at 4.99 because there was a huge bid at 5.00 a share on my level 2 screen. If that bid had gotten taken out, it would have been free falling time for this stock. I decided to hold ARAY until 5 minutes before the close hoping for some Friday short covering rally. Sold it at 5.40 right before the market closed for a .35 point gain.
The above chart is ARAY daily showing the support level, and below is a 5-minute chart of ARAY.

LPH still halted, and who knows for how long.

As you may know, my trading style is trading on people's fear. Yesterday the fear was fully in LPH, but ended up becoming my worst nightmare when it got halted with me stuck in the trade.  Last year (2012), I got stuck in 2 halted trades, but the stocks I were in got unhalted within a few hours. I think it maybe awhile before this stock gets unhalted. The reason I say that is because AMEX has a tendency of halting stocks for almost forever, remember GBG. This stock (GBG) has been halted since mid-September. So if anybody gets any news about when LPH is going to get unhalted, leave a comment on this blog post, or send me a message on either twitter or Stocktwits. Thanks!

Trade of the day, VRNG!!!

This trade on VRNG today was pretty easy based on pure instinct. I have been watching/trading VRNG stock every day for about 9 months now, and know the ins and outs of it without looking at a chart. There is a picture snap of my tweet below before I bought it. Went long 2500 shares at 3.00, and sold it at 3.45 when a gravestone doji formed, that pretty much told me this upward breakout might be over for today. But, the day wasn’t all that great though because a small percentage of my capital is stuck in LPH when I was trying to catch the bounce during the sell-off.

Trade of the day, DOLE!!!

Thought my trade of the day was going to be on UVXY, but the stock started slowly dipping during the day, and got stopped-out after I moved my stop to breakeven. DOLE was pretty much a simple play on a somewhat double bottom move upwards. I went long 1000 shares at 9.80 after a hammer formed where it tested the lows of the day for the second time. The stock started consolidating but failed to move any higher, so I decided to sell it after getting a hint ( higher volume bar on pic) of weakness in the consolidation period at 10.05 for a .25 point gain.
